strength training programs

Exercise programs are meant to strengthen muscles. There are various strength training programs that will help accomplish this. Basic strength training is doing 3 sets of 12 repetitions for each muscle group. The routine looks simple but it can get the juices flowing just like the more complicated strength training programs. This is an ideal program for beginners. Its simplicity makes it something that the beginner will like to continue doing.

On the other extreme is the well rounded strength training routine. It includes seven factors and these are: reps, sets, rest, recovery, exercises, pace and change. These are guidelines that should be followed:

~Rep ranges under 8 are primarily used for adding muscle mass and higher gains in strength.
~Sets. Stay between 3-5 sets for general health and fitness
~Rest. In between each set should be at least 1 minute of rest. Allow 48 hours of recovery between working the same muscle
~Exercises. You should do an exercise for each major muscle group.
~Pace. A good rule of thumb is to move through each exercise by following the speed of your breathe.
~Change. You should change your strength training routine every 4-6 weeks. This will prevent your body from leveling and keep things fresh.
