Exercise routines do not have to be boring even if you rely on only one machine for your fitness needs. You can always vary your training to add intensity and excitement to your fitness sessions.
If you are a treadmill user, for example, you can supplement your treadmill workouts with free weights. This means lifting light dumbbells while doing your brisk walking routine. Start with one arm first and a reasonable number of repetitions before moving on to the other. You can also try a walk-jog-walk-jog routine. Brisk walk for 15 minutes, then jog for the next 10; slow down again with a walk for 15 minutes, then increase the pace for the next 10 minutes. This simulates going up and down a hill or a street with rises and inclines. Of course, before embarking on a super strenuous exercise routine, it is best to consult your doctor first or a fitness professional regarding your condition.
