Most men desire to be more muscular. Big muscles, after all, convey strength and toughness. To a good number of the male population, being strong is definitely better than being weak.
Fitness experts, however, caution that gaining muscle doesn’t happen overnight. It’s also more than just lifting weights. To gain muscle, discipline and dedication are needed. Here are some simple steps to help you achieve your goal:
~Reduce cardiovascular activities like running and biking.
~Read food labels to be able to compute the calories you need. Add a few hundred calories to your regular intake.
~Eat five to six small meals a day.
~Load up on protein. The recommended daily intake is one gram of protein per pound of body weight.
~Do less repetitions when lifting weights.
~Do full body workouts in a single session.
~Stretch regularly or get massages to stay flexible and prevent injury.
~Vary your workout routine every four to six weeks.
~Get sufficient rest.
