Workout Convenience

Author: SmartDiets
October 5, 2011

When we think about exercise, the last thing we would usually describe it is convenience. Having to work out is tough, demanding and challenging, that is why most people would often quit instead of trying to hold on and pursue their fitness goals. You have to admit, there is nothing great about working when you ache all over, and the cherry on the cake comes after a few months of arduous workouts when you finally get to see the results of all that hard work.

But when it comes to exercising, you must be able to add in that sense of convenience. This can be done by providing yourself with what you need without having to worry about those costs you need to pay each time, and those long trips that you need to take just so you could make yourself suffer from those long workouts. Don’t give yourself that excuse, and get a Bowflex revolution right at home. Now you can conveniently exercise without any worries of never-ending monthly fees or those trips you need to take to the gym. See, workout and convenience can go hand in hand!

Build those Muscles

Author: SmartDiets
September 6, 2011

Weight training is a technique of building muscle and burning calories that relies on gravity to provide the resistance needed. Weight training is sometimes referred to as strength training, with the terms being used interchangeably. The Olympic Curl bar weight is probably the quickest way to increase upper arm mass, strength, and definition. This bar isolates and intensifies development of the bicep and forearm muscles which makes it a favorite of bodybuilders everywhere.

Weight training equipment, such as the Olympic Curl weight bar, is the most critical element when it comes to this type of exercise program. For the most part, the design of weight training equipment is relatively simple. Free weights, such as barbells and dumbbells, can be used to build muscles and burn calories over time. Another option would be machine weights, which will keep the weights nicely stacked, allowing you to focus all your energy on the actual lifting.

Choosing the best home gym system can be very difficult because of the variety of choices in the market today. I consider myself very lucky that I discovered the Bodycraft XPress gym system. It is designed to shape my body, get me strong, lose unwanted weight, and hopefully even improve my golf swing. It promises dramatic results with only 30 minutes of workout time every day.

This home gym system is unequaled in value because of its versatility and efficient design. It is definitely a better alternative to the traditional set of dumbbells and bench. It utilizes pulleys and cables for unrestricted and completely natural bio-mechanically correct movements. You can define the path which will provide for a greater and more natural range of motion. This home gym is the most effective way to build strength and balance for everyday activities.

The Exercise Ball is Great for Core Strength

Author: SmartDiets
April 29, 2010

This is the equipment you will need if you are looking to strengthen the abs and back. Use the exercise ball for core strength and to increase stability. The exercise ball challenges the body muscles by putting it in an unstable position. As you lie on the ball, the muscles of the legs and abs contract to keep from falling off. The effort exerted in trying to keep on top of the ball is enough to build strength.

Exercise balls come in different sizes; it is important that you are using the right size for your height and body constitution. To test it, sit on the ball and make sure that your hips are level or just slightly higher than the knees:

55 cm – 4′11″ – 5′4″

65 cm – 5′5″ – 5′11″

75 cm – 6′0″ – 6′ 7″

Get the right exercise ball for your height and start practicing by sitting on it and raising one foot off the ground. It can be a real challenge.

Reorganize Your Household Routine to be Part of Your Exercise Program

Author: SmartDiets
April 19, 2010

The good news is that you don’t need to spend a lot to be able to improve your physical condition. You will not need fancy senior exercise equipment. You don’t even have to go out of your home all the time. Senior exercise is all about moving more, getting involved in more activities and being consistent about these activities. There are many ways by which you can get your body moving.

Think of things you enjoy doing and consider it part of your exercise program. If you love gardening, spend at least an hour in the morning tinkering, watering and cleaning up your garden space. You will feel good when you come into your house sweating. Inside the home, vacuuming can give you a good cardio workout. The trick is in pacing. Know what you can do and limit yourself to that. Don’t try to do too much in one go.
